The Gender Identity Clinic is based in the Chalmers Centre, Edinburgh. This clinic is for people over the age of 17 who reside in NHS Lothian, Borders or Fife. People under 17 should contact the Gender Identity Clinic at Sandyford in Glasgow.
We ask that you access the Gender Identity service through a referral from your GP. They work in partnership with your GP throughout your contact with the clinic, and this helps to ensure you continue to be well supported at the end of your treatment.
We understand that there may be circumstances where someone does not want to approach their usual GP, and in this situation we will suggest that you consider approaching an alternative GP. If this causes difficulty, please contact us and we will be able to discuss this with you.
