Borders Forensic Suite – The Oakleaf Centre
The opening of the Oakleaf Centre forensic suite means that survivors of rape and sexual assault from the Borders can receive the support they need, in a suitable environment without having to travel out of the area. The suite supports the national SARCS service which allows survivors to access a forensic medical examination where appropriate, with or without police involvement, and can be reached 24/7 on 0800 148 88 88. The SARCS service is the result of close partnership working between Scottish Government, Police Scotland, survivor support organisations including Borders Rape Crisis Centre and the NHS. Any teams who feel SARCS might be relevant to their service and would like more information are welcome to get in touch with Borders Sexual Health at sexual.health2@borders.scot.nhs.uk
